Vakantie in een villa in Nissaki, Corfu

Corfu, Nissaki

Nissaki is a beautiful resort providing outstanding diving and water activities, with a horseshoe-shaped beach. A variety of tavernas specialize in local cuisine. The several tiny fishing boats that are moored there are sheltered by a small harbour and there is a jetty/collection point for the Taverna Agni water taxi that provides an evening service to Taverna Agni and a ride to Corfu Town twice a week.

Perspehone is an excellent little villa. We travelled in earlymid September with our 2.5 year old and had a magical time. Nights were cool although still about 20 and days were in the upper 20s early 30s. The villa is right on the main road that runs up the north east of the island but this being Corfu is not a large road and you hardly notice it from the house. The access is steep and its just before a bend in the road I chose to reverse in so it was easier to get out was a bit of an adventure the first time but once you got the hang of it easy as pie. You park your car on the hill and there are a number of steps down so if you have any mobility issues this should be noted (this part of Corfu is very steep in general so almost all the villas are accessed with some kind of hill or steps). The Service from Beach Villas was excellent including a text service which meant that a couple of tiny things (new lightbulb and some extra towels) were sorted within minutes even on a Sunday when we arrived. The directions we were sent were very easy to follow too. The villa itself was very clean and well maintained with a shaded terrace (be careful of mosquitos you cant really avoid them at certain times of the day but all in all you can work around them take some DEET and invest in some spirals or citronella candles) which was great for breakfast and lunch looking out over the bay towards Corfu town you can watch the cruise ships coming in and the day boats coming up the coast to explore the little bays and coves. The pool area is completely private (there are a couple of apartments just behind who could see the edge of the pool if they were on tiptoes but we didn't see anyone in there when we were there) and has a brilliant view. We opted for this villa because of the small child's pool. Please note this does slope off very quickly but where it meets the main pool it was only up to our toddlers chest and with crocs on he was really happy to have his own pool and got in and out no trouble with us sat on the side to keep an eye on things. It was shaded in the morning and in full sun in the afternoon so depending on the day we either stayed and played in the morning or went to the beach. The villa is owned by the people that own the Agni Taverna in Agni Bay Eleni is very friendly and speaks impeccable English although we only really saw her at the Taverna or when she came to fix the Wifi after an electrical storm (although who needs wifi when you have views like this and a pool)) The whole of North Eastern Corfu is fabulous lots of little coves mainly pebbly so bring some beach shoes but if you head to Apraos (about 35 mins drive) there's a huge sandy beach with water that doesn't get beyond knee deep for about 50 metres into the sea perfect for youngsters to play in safety. There's a bit of noise in the evenings from the hotel down the coast but it stopped pretty early and was quite nice to hear a bit of life happening around us) Inside the villa the furniture is decent everything is very clean and well maintained. The fridge worked really well (we had a duff one in our place the year before) and there's a washing machine and dishwasher although we didn't use either. All in all its an excellent place. The Aphrodite Supermarket is just down the road and the same family own the bakery next door (very good bread croissants and coffee) and the pizza place next door to that (great wood fired pizza and really friendly). Vitamins Taverna is excellent value and very friendly also on the same road and we also spent some lovely days at Agni beach swimming and watching the boats and eating in the Agni Taverna. Further afield Eucalyptus in Agios Stephanos served excellent food in wonderful surroundings.

Fantastic a truly stunning villa with outstanding views. The pool for a villa of this size is exceptional and the infinity edge provided a great view whilst taking a cooling swim. The location on the main north east route make this villa a great base for exploring this charming corner of the island and its only a twenty five minute drive into Corfu town if you fancy some night time action. However some days we didn't drive at all and made use of the tavernas and brilliant local beaches at Kaminaki and Nissaki.

Excellent relaxing holiday - weather a bit hot but not complaining as it was sunny every day!

We had a fantastic time at Persephone - not only a great villa but also a great place to holiday in just the right spot in Corfu. The four of us (we have 2 teenage kids) hired a car via Eos and simply picked it up (and dropped it off) at the airport and off we toodled and were at the villa by 2.00pm and in the pool by 2.01 absorbing the stunning views from it across the bay to Corfu town...The views by road and the scenery are jaw dropping but not nearly as spectacular as by the small boat we hired for the day for 70 Euros from Kaminaki beach... (No license required just a bit of courage ) Trips to Kassiopi are a must as are the ferry excursions to Corfu town - the evening one being the one we plumped for. Not quite enough time for horse riding or scuba diving but plenty for snorkeling water park and restaurants at Agni bay and Stephanos.

It really was the most relaxing and beautiful holiday that my wife and I have ever had (and we have had many). I would like to thank all at Beach Villas for making our stay so very special. We are desperate to return next year to Persephone or Nissaki area and will definitely use Beach Villas in future. Thanks once again.

The villa was absolutely delightful and the pool and view were spectacular. We had the most relaxing holiday there that we have had in years. It was a much needed break and it exceeded our expectations.

The first two days were rainy but the other five days were great. We loved the pool and the view the most.We could not stop taking pictures of them. Also at night the pool and the surroundings look amazing. The owners were nice, we hardly saw them. The house and pool were cleaned fine and the cleaning people were very friendly. Nisaki is a nice town to go for a walk or an exploration to some exotic or hidden beaches.

Excellent Villa in an outstanding location. The Villa is two bedroom and very comfortable, it takes a little while to get used to the hot water system but once up and running all is well. The villa has plenty of storage space, is clean and the twice weekly cleaner was prompt and did a great job. The toilets can be used as normal re toilet tissue but nothing else to be disregarded down the pan. The local area has a petrol station, supermarkets and tavernas. The infinity pool is pretty secluded. With two alfresco dining locations within the villa grounds I would highly recommend this villa. The villa is safe for children but be warned if you have children under the age of six the pool gets quite deep very quickly. Parking on site for one vehicle and a few steps to the villa front door.

We had a marvellous week at Persephone in mid-June 2013. Weve stayed in several properties in the Nissaki area over the past 8 years and whilst they have all been very good we would now put Persephone at the top of our list of fave properties. Previous reviews have summed it up well what with the splendid views over to Corfu Town etc the villa layout and its proximity to local facilities. The pool provided us with many hours of fun and it was great to watch the swallows zooming down for a drink. Other attractions were star-gazing from the lower patio and listening to Scops owls in the evening very relaxing. Furthermore the villas position right next to the bus stop meant that getting up to Kouloura Kalami or Kassiopi by bus was nice and easy when we could tear ourselves away from Persephone for an afternoon.A special mention goes to Di and Tony they provided not only an excellent cleaning service but they also resolved a problem with the safe deposit box without which wed have had to carry all our valuables around with us. The Eos Travel/Beach Villas people were also very helpful whenever we had some questions for them.
